Customs Information

When shipping internationally, your parcel may be subject to customs clearance in the destination country. To ensure a smooth and timely delivery, it is important that all customs requirements are followed accordingly.

Customs documentation

All international shipments require:

  • A detailed description of the contents
  • The accurate value of the shipment
  • The sender and recipient's full contact details.

Incomplete or incorrect information may cause delays, additional fees or the return of the shipment.

Duties and Taxes

Custom duties, VAT, and import taxes are determined by the destination country. These charges are not included in shipping costs as they are calculated by local customs authorities and are usually paid by the recipient.

Prohibited and Restricted items

Each country has its own regulations regarding what can and cannot be imported. Check our prohibited items page here to see the most common restricted contents.

Custom delays

Custom inspections are beyond the control of Flying Luggage. While we work to support the process, clearance times vary by country and cannot be guaranteed.

US tariffs and new custom rules

Due to recent changes in US trade policy, a new global import tariff has been introduced for goods entering the United States. These tariff changes can increase the total duty payable upon entry into the US, so it's especially important that customs declarations are complete and accurate to avoid unexpected fees or delays.
